I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July celebration yesterday. I’m still recovering. We went the traditional route this year, meaning we didn’t lounge around the house or act like it was just another day. We braved the crowds and the heat to see our daughter in the parade (and embarrassed her when I had the audacity to walk out in the road to take her picture), listened to our son complain about how boring the parade was (because we wouldn’t let him stay home to play video games), perused the booths, displays and bounce houses in the city park, and prepared to host my family for a BBQ, party and fireworks.
I’d like to formally thank our city for moving the fireworks to a park less than a mile from my house. Ha-ha! It was very considerate of them. We had the best seats in the house, literally. We are fortunate enough to have a house with a view of the entire valley, so we watched the show from the deck, and I got to test the fireworks setting my camera. Incidentally, we got to watch all the fireworks displays from the surrounding communities. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect setting.
Here’s hoping you and yours had a wonderful and safe 4th of July!
